The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent hosted a seminar for importers in Uzbekistan on GSM 102 program offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The GSM-102 program provides credit guarantees to encourage financing of commercial exports of U.S. agricultural products to buyers in countries that have sufficient financial strength to have foreign exchange available for scheduled payments.
The program is available to exporters and importers of U.S. agricultural commodities and food products, including poultry meat and high-value, consumer-oriented processed frozen foods.
The U.S. government was represented at the meeting by Rishan Chaudhry, Regional Agricultural Attache, U.S. Embassy Ankara, Timothy Hunt, Financial Analyst, USDA Washington DC, Aynaz Shaikhy, Agricultural Specialist, U.S. Embassy Astana, and Sophia Fulton, Economic Officer, U.S. Embassy Tashkent.
Among the participants were major importers of U.S. poultry in Uzbekistan and representatives of other sectors of agricultural trade.
