Butterball Original and Lower Sodium Turkey Bacon get a smokier flavor and new appearance.
Butterball announced it has updated its Butterball Original Turkey Bacon and Lower Sodium Turkey Bacon.
According to the company, the updated turkey bacon has a smokier flavor more like traditional bacon, as well as an appearance that more closely resembles traditional bacon. Butterball said the changes follow testing and product development informed by consumer feedback.
The nutrition profile and value of the products are unchanged, according to the company. Butterball has also updated the products' cooking instructions.
"Consumers want delicious, healthy breakfast options, and expect both when purchasing Butterball," said Rebecca Welch, director of retail brand management at Butterball. "Our team thoughtfully tested and refined our Butterball Turkey Bacon to give it a smokier bacon flavor without sacrificing the health benefits consumers want. We're excited to give turkey bacon fans more of what they love." Turkey bacon has been part of Butterball's product lineup for more than 20 years.
