Perdue-owned Pasturebird ranks in USA Today's top 3

Pasturebird was the only poultry brand to place in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for meat delivery service. Pasturebird, a pasture-raised chicken brand owned by Perdue Farms, placed third in USA Today's 2026 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for Best Meat Delivery Service, its highest ranking since joining the list, according to the company. Pasturebird said it was the only poultry brand to place in the category's top three this year.

Perdue Farms acquired Pasturebird in 2020 with the stated goal of scaling regenerative agriculture and making pasture-raised chicken more accessible and affordable for consumers. Since the acquisition, the two companies have worked together on efforts to establish clearer labeling standards for pasture-raised poultry, including a petition that led the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to adopt a formal definition distinguishing "pasture-raised" from "free-range" claims.

The USA Today 10Best awards are determined through a combination of expert panel nominations and public voting across multiple weeks. Pasturebird raises its chickens using solar-powered, mobile structures it calls Automated Range Coops, which the company said are relocated to fresh pasture daily to allow the birds to forage outdoors. The company said it has converted more than 1,000 acres of farmland into pasture through the program.

Shoppers can order chicken directly through Pasturebird's website in customizable boxes, with options including whole chickens, breasts, thighs, ground chicken, party wings and drumsticks. A subscription option offers a 10% discount for recurring deliveries. "I first started raising chickens to feed my growing family and to feel better along the way. Now, I'm so proud that Pasturebird makes it easier for families across the country to choose pasture-raised," said Paul Greive, Pasturebird's founder.
